“Hungry for Art”... The Science and Art of Enjoying Good Food Fresh Produce .

All of my senses are stimulated when I design each image. Some images are realistic, others are more abstract. The “arty” variations are done in my camera and are not modified in a computer. Choosing the color or absence of color, shape, texture and arrangement provides me with delight

I have so much fun finding the perfect fresh produce in a variety of conventional food markets, farmers’ markets or gardens and orchards as well as other props I often use in the still life arrangements. Finding the perfect frames to complement my art takes me to the next step in the creation.

When I exhibit my work, the viewer is attracted visually to the images which then gives me an avenue to talk about the gift fruits and vegetables give to a healthy body. Often this results in the exchange of recipes and other tidbits of info.


Annette Globits Artist Biography

For the past 20 years I have been practicing the process developed by Julia Cameron in the book,”The Artist Way”. My creativity was revealed to me through the visual arts and the written word. An open call for “Zines” by the Orange County Museum of Art Satellite Gallery in South Coast Plaza gave me the opportunity to create and enter a “Zine” to see my vision of using photographs, art and the written word to inspire other women. My “Zine is titled “Women of Wisdom”. “Zine” short for magazine is a self publication of text and images motivated by a desire for self expression. Attending workshops and classes with a variety of talented instructors at Santa Fe School of Photography, Rocky Mountain School of Photography, Coastline College Study Abroad Program in Florence, Italy, Huntington Beach Art Center, Canon Live Learning and the Photo Society of Orange County broadened my technical knowledge to compliment my natural creative eye. I am also a member of the Huntington Beach Art League and Orange County Fine Arts as well as several photography clubs. My work has been exhibited in a variety of shows and art centers including: Showcase Gallery South Coast Village CA Cisco Home South Coast Design Center (SoCo) Costa Mesa, CA Bowers Museum CA Newport Beach Civic Center CA Laguna Beach Civic Center CA Orange County Museum of Art Satellite Gallery CA Chapman University Guggenheim Gallery Orange CA Many of my fine art photographs have won awards for uniqueness and creativity and have been purchased by admiring individuals. Recent photographic themes include: Humannequins, The Beauty of Abstraction and Hungry for Art.
